NT Monthly Magazine: August (by Krystle )

Welcome to the August magazine! A lot of you commented on the July edition being shorter than usual: that unfortunately has a tendency to happen during vacation time. However, we are back now with a full edition with interviews, news, updates and there might even be a small surprise somewhere… We hope you’ll enjoy the read!

Do you like writing? Being creative? Making layouts and editing photos? Do you like working together with other people? In that case, you should definitely keep your eyes peeled! We in NewsTeam are in want of a few new members, so if that sounds interesting, then this is your chance! The application details will be posted during the first half of September, right here on the daily news segment!

- Tell us a bit about yourself
Well, my name is Mada, I joined vp in may 2016 but after a couple months I completely forgot about it. I'm back now and it seems like I'm staying (though I've already thought of quitting lmaooao). My major hobby is drawing, which is why I decided it'd be a good idea to start designing for vp and etc. I mostly come here to lurk or post threads.

- What's your position in ET?
At the moment I'm in as a designer as an experiment to see if I'd like to stay further or not.

- How did you feel when they asked you to join?
I was honestly so happy yet scared lmaooo, I personally don't think I'm that worthy of being here but I'd like to prove myself by doing my best!

- Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Emelie and I'm 21 years old. I spend (too much) most of my time on VP as I'm not a student or have a job atm. When I'm not on VP I like to play games, draw, watch movies/series. watch Youtube and just browse the Internet. I've been on VP since 2015, but I was only semi active for about 1-2 years and then I didn't plan on ever coming back, until around September last year.

- What's your position in ET?
I'm a designer, but I can still help out with other stuff like voting, giving feedback, coming up with ideas etc. It's just that designing is my main position.

-How did you feel when they asked you to join?
I really wasn't prepared for it, lol! But it made me really happy and flattered that they wanted me to be part of their team. Joining ET never crossed my mind before, because I didn't know they had designers. I had just thought about becoming a badged designer again, but being an ET designer is very fun as well when I can also help out with competitions.

For the month of August there have been quite a few competitions to participate in. The monthly classics we all know and love have been present, but there have also been some new fun twists.

ET was of course back with another design competition this month, and this time around the theme was grunge. The competition seemed to be very popular, and many showed their talent and creativity to hopefully win the amazing prizes made by nondesigners Intimate and Moss for female and male respectively.

For dress up, ET continued their Greek gods and goddesses series with the goddess of vegetation and queen of the underworld, Persephone. The prizes for this competition matched the theme perfectly as the sets, designed by talented Ad0xa, resembles what we know of Persephone perfectly. The next dressup competition from ET was also a part of a series, a new one themed after the seasons. For this first round of the series the season was summer and you were supposed to dress up inspired by beautiful summer sunsets. The prizes from this competition are designed by Helmii x Dollzmania for both genders. ET’s last dress up competition from the month of August was elements, periodic elements. Here you were supposed to dress up after one of the elements from the periodic table to try to win the amazing avatar sets designed by Lily / September.

SMT held two different wwib dress up competitions this month. The first one being how we are used to seeing them with an item from the shops, this time it was a brown hair for both genders, that you are going to try to style the best you can from you own wardrobe. The prizes from this competition were statement plaid single items, a pair of pants for males and a short dress for females, designed by Bowie. The second wwib of the month however, was a little different as they called it the “special edition”. This time for a little twist you were instead of styling an item from the shops as normal going to style the actual prize, which was a beautiful curly hair made designer by Mordiera for both genders, in two of the SMT members’ wardrobes.

Congratulations to everyone who won anything this month and good luck to those who participated in a competition where the winners are yet to be announced!

Auction
This month's auctions were held on 3rd of August, and featured four very different sets for both males and females. The male pd set featured items from DollzMania, while the female one was a mermaid set designed by Shadowjess. The female credit set was a pink set made to resemble Ichigo Momomiya, the main character in Japanese manga series Tokyo Mew Mew, and was designed by Solovey. The male credit set was a lovely purple and black set featuring items designed by Kieren and DollzMania.

MCW
This month's edition of the mega credit set week ran from 29th of July to 4th of August, and featured sets from six different designers. There were six sets for females, and four for males. The female sets were designed by Crown & River, Lily (September), Solovey, Ad0xa and Solovey & Wishbone, while the male sets were designed by Crown, Ad0xa, Lily and Solovey. On the 24th the Circus arrived at Virtualpopstar. It was a day filled with outstanding circus sets in the Fashion Shop, a new set released every hour from 3 pm to 8 pm GMT+1.  This lovely event was made possible by the designers: Ad0xa, Leda, January and Eveonite so we would like to thank them for doing this! Also a special thanks to the ForumTeam who arranged a thread where people could chat about the event.
