the plots:
Your father was the owner of one of the most powerful tech companies in the world. He was quite simply a genius and every idea was cutting edge. You’d worked alongside him now for 3 years and he was building you up to be ready to take over when he was old and wanted to retire. However, that came all to soon. On your 25th birthday, you sat waiting in one of the classiest  restaurants you’d ever been to. Your father was supposed to meet you after work to celebrate your birthday but after an hour of waiting you become worried. No text or call. He’d never been late to see her ever before, especially not on her birthday. The uneasy feeling in your gut is making you feel sick so you step outside to get some air. That’s when you hear it. The small gathering of people in front of you, chatting amongst themselves about a car crash. A car crash involving your father. And that was the last thing you remember. Everything else that took place that night and the few weeks after are simply a stomach churning blur of confusion and upset. He died that night and now two months down the line your walking into his head office which you now own and control. Your first appointment for the day is someone you’d never heard of. In fact, you weren’t even sure this man had anything to do with the company. But it seems he has a hell of a lot to do with it. Unknown to you, your father had been working closely with one of the most wanted men in America. He was #1 on the list. Drug lord, money smuggling, murder, every bad thing under the sun and he’s probably done it. Well now your fathers ties are yours and it seems your stuck in deep with this one. And to make matters worse, it seems this bad boys had his eyes on you for a long time. He requests dinner that night to discuss the situation she was now in but of course that cheeky smirk had other things in mind. You should be scared, you should say no, but from interest and maybe even desire, you say yes. Now what are you getting yourself in to?

the first time you fell in love you were 15. Most people believe your first love is simply a stepping stone to finding your true love. But for you, it’s always been clear that your first love was the best. Nothing could beat the wild nights sneaking out, the stolen kisses behind closed doors. Your first love was true love. The most bright and passionate love. Everything since had simply been...okay? Good? Just, nothing could compare to the feeling. You only broke up because he was moving away with his parents to the city and you were young so you both figured you’d move on and be fine. Well it seems like he did, you still follow each other on social media and he boasts a happy love life with his girlfriend of now 3 years. You, you’ve had possibly 5 boyfriends in the last 8 years since he left. Well,  you never intended on moving to the city but a good job came your way and there you are. A new apartment, new job, new beginning. All you want is to forget him and hopefully find a new love. So much so that you agreed to go on a tinder date with a guy that seemed fairly legit and uncreepy. You rock up to the rooftop bar of a nice hotel where you were supposed to meet but it seems you were stood up. That’s when you hear his name. And then his voice. You instantly look up and there he is.  Dressed in a suit, perfectly slicked back hair, a watch that oozed money and a smile that made her heart skip. He’d grown into one hell of a handsome guy and now he’s here. In front of you, once again. Will you let him slip through your fingers or give everything you have to get into his life once more. Even if it means destroying his relationship with his current girlfriend.

Apologies if there are any spelling mistakes I’m on my phone! :)

Ivy’s heart ached as her car rolled up outside of the multi-storey building she new so well. It used to be a happy place, her favourite in fact. A building filled with memories of her childhood and into her first years of adulthood. It’s where her and her father bonded, for hours on end, discussing breaking edge tech and all kinds of insane ideas that they’d plot to make true. It was, quite simply, her home from home. But now, it had never made her feel so empty and broken. This was her fathers empire, the man she idolised from the first moment she possibly could and now he was gone. Taken far too soon by something so stupid and reckless. Still, two months on, it was the toughest fight to stay strong. She’d cried every tear possible and her heart had shattered into the tiniest of smithereens that she no longer believed it would ever get better. All hope and light in her world had faded. The one last thing she had was his memory, his empire, and she was going to make it stand strong in his shadow so that he would remain remembered by every person. She believed if she could do that, then maybe, just maybe, she’d find happiness. Although, it was unbelievably hard to face her fears and come back to this place, she was determined to make it work.
Clutching her handbag she watched as the car door swung open to reveal what was most fittingly a gloomy day. The rain poured and the wind made her skin shiver at the icy cold touch. “Thank you.” There was a clear uneasiness to her fragile voice as she stepped from the car and out under the opened umbrella. She took hold of the handle, flashing that of the smallest smile before setting off towards the building that loomed before her.
Upon entering she was met with multiple sympathy looks and unwanted apologies. She didn’t need these people reminding her that her father was dead, but she wasn’t heartless, she knew they were simply trying to be nice. She flashed her smile at each of them, putting on her brace front as the elevator finally opened on the top floor. The lump in her throat was making it increasingly hard to keep her feelings in check. This was his office, and now, it was hers. It just wasn’t supposed to be this soon.
“Ivy, it’s nice to see you back here. We’ve missed having you around. I’m so sorry about your fathers passing. We all miss him so much. But we know you’ll do a fine job in his place.” This stole Ivy’s attention as her eyes finally settled upon the receptionist just outside of the office. She simply nodded, “thanks Kate, I’m gonna go ahead and get ready for my first meeting. Just send him in when he gets here okay?” And with that she pushed the double doors open and stepped into her office.

Jacob let out a sigh of relief as he took a seat upon one of the bar stools, surprised to see there was even one free considering how busy it was. The atmosphere was buzzing and it seemed to put him into a better mood. A hard days work in the office had definitely got him tensed up but a drink with his best friends was just what was needed to loosen up. His girlfriend had been nagging him all day about how she wanted to see him tonight, just like every other night but she was in a mood because he was going out with the boys instead. He knew she was just anxious he’d end up getting drunk and meeting another girl but he was faithful and he loved her. Yes she could be annoying but he dealt with it because he loved her, at least he thought so anyway. It always played on his mind. Did he really love her? Yes. Did he love her like he’d loved before? No. He new it was bad to think about it, about her, still even after 8 years when he was in a solid relationship with a girl he should adore. But it did play on his mind. His first love, was something he’d never experienced since. He thought he’d find it again but better. But he never had, even now. Mella, his gorgeous high school girlfriend before he left to move to the city with his parents. God they’d created some of the best memories he’d ever had and he’d never once forgotten them, or her. He wondered what she was up to far more often than he should be. He’d secretly stalk her social media to see she’d either gotten or broken up with another boyfriend. It was quite easy to see she clearly wasn’t lucky in love, at least not after losing him. It often crossed his mind, that thought of what if. What if he’d stayed? What if they’d tried to make it work? What if they met again? No. He couldn’t go down this road again, it just left his frustrated every time. He knew better.
“I’ll take a whisky, dash of water, no ice.” He told the barman with a pointed look. That was when he heard his name being shouted over the noise of the bar and instantly a cheeky grin fell onto his face. He spun in his chair to face the three boys that now stood in front of him. “Always bloody late.” He chuckled and watched as they instantly hurdled defensive, humours abusive at him. He wouldn’t have it any other way. He continued to laugh as he turned back to the barman, “make that another whisky, one pint of whatever and a glass of red for this tossed on the right.” He smirked, turning in his seat to face back towards the boys. However, mid turn, his eyes captured those of someone he recognised all too well. He’d never, ever, forget those eyes.

mella sat legs crossed at a rooftop bar, the sun setting as she looked at her watch. it had already been an hour since her date was supposed to arrive, and she recieved no responses from her texts or calls. she felt extremely dumb for finally putting herself out there after a year and some guy skating on her as if she didn't matter. she picked up her glass bottle of beer and pursed her lips, looking down and thinking before her waiter came back over. "are you..still waiting for one other?" she blinked frantically before peering up at him. "no i'm afraid not, i'll probably just move up to the bar if that's alright with you. he nodded and she grabbed her purse, standing up and excusing herself between people. she pulled out one of the wooden chairs before ordering another beer and leaning back to look up at the television. she heard a distinct voice before her eyes wandered around the bar.. then her eyes met with his. "she stared for a couple seconds then looked back down, feeling awkward and unsure of what to say. should she say something? wait for him to? maybe just not do anything at all? the bartender sat down her beer with a friendly smile as she replied to put it on her tab.

ryan pulled up in the back of a limo, grinning at the large building he'd been to so many times before. one of his bodyguards opened the door for him while another held out an umbrella over his head. he stepped over a puddle onto the sidewalk as his assistant opened the large gold doors for him. he checked his watch before stepping into the elevator headed up all the way to the top floor. when he arrived most of the employees looked the opposite way while some kissed his ass. most of them either wanted nothing to do with him or everything to do with him. he entered the office, immediately grinning at his late partner's daughter whom he'd seen plenty of times before but was never introduced. "hello ivy, i'm ryan, i'm so sorry about your dad. we were really close. i'm sure you're sick of apologies but i wanted to let you know how much i respected him as a business partner."

Ivy had barely been sat at the desk of her newly refurbished office for more than five minutes before she heard the doors open. It stole her attention immediately, although she was happy for the intrusion as she new being in that office alone for too long was going to make her upset. Getting to her feet, she let her eyes settle upon the young man who had just entered her office without so much as a knock. He was grinning like a Cheshire Cat, which was slightly insulting considering the first thing he spoke of was her fathers passing. However, she simply brushed it off, not wanting to start on a bad foot with her fathers partner. It was strange, she new almost everyone her father did business with or had at least heard of them. However, this man? She didn’t have the slightest clue who he was or what he even did. “Thank you, please take a seat and make yourself comfortable.” She offered up the seats in front of her desk before sitting back down in her chair. “I don’t believe we’ve ever crossed paths before? I thought i had met all of my fathers business partners but apparently not. Are you part of one of the new tech ventures? I’ve tried my hardest to find anything but I’m coming up a little blank when it comes to your name, please forgive me for being so clueless.” She laughed nervously, a small smile still planted upon her face. She took a moment to take in his appearance. Clearly he came from money, his suit simply told her that alone. He had an incredibly handsome face, one that made her stomach swirl with a nervous feeling. She certainly had never come across this man because she would definitely have remembered a face as gorgeous as his.

Jacob new she’d seen him to. There was no denying that those few seconds of intense eye contact hadn’t  been felt on her end. What was he supposed to do now. He couldn’t just not talk to her could he? Well, let’s rephrase that, he definitely wanted to talk to her he just wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do. Did he want to reopen that box of feelings because there was no denying that one conversation would leave him in a state of confusion when he went home to his girlfriend. Mella had a way of sticking in his mind and it was so hard to push her out. A few seconds passed and he found himself downing the rest of his glass and getting to his feet. “I’ll be back in a second.” The liquid courage was enough to force him away from the comfort of his friends and through the groups of people that blocked his path from her. However it didn’t take too long and the next thing he new he was almost beside her. His eyes drank in her appearance first, god she’d just grown Into even more of a stunning woman than she already had been. He could feel the nerves now, so he loosened his tie and popped the first button on his shirt as he approached her. “Mella, is that you?”
