About your second statement in the same alinea, of course transgenders are not necessarily less pretty than cis people, but it's a fact that they were grown up with the appearance they feel comfortable with and transgenders have to take hormones to gain it. Not sure if you meant this though

what i meant was exactly to question this (bolded) mindset
the second statement implies tht trans ppl are all trying to be/look like cis ppl but we will never achieve this because we're "less" than them (which is cisnormative and harmful)
also not all trans ppl take hormones and they shouldn't need to go thru hrt to be considered the gender they are (i'm not sure if u meant it this way, it's just how i understood it. pls correct me if i'm wrong)

We surely are not less; my apologies if I made it sound so. we just take another way to make our appearance go with the gender we are most comfortable with. I pointed the fact out, because we don't have to prove our worth through getting as near to a cis body as possible. The most important thing is that we, along with the way we choose to live on as the preferred gender are accepted by others.

I used the hormones in the explanation, because I plan on going through a transition myself haha. Of course not all transgenders will make the same decision

no problem!! i imagined u didn't mean it negatively since u're trans urself!

also, r u not a native english speaker?
i'm only asking this bcuz u keep referring to trans ppl as "transgenders" but transgender is an adjective and u're supposed to use it as "transgender ppl" and things like tht! the problem w using transgender as a noun is tht it's used to differentiate us from cis ppl (as ppl don't say "the cisses", they say "cis ppl";) as well as dehumanize us
and i don't think tht's ur objective lol

I'm not a native speaker indeed haha. I'm from The Netherlands. It's normal to refer to transgenders there, so I thought it would be the same in the English language. Thanks for pointing it out and will make sure to use 'trans people' in the future!

do u find it insensitive when a cis person says smth like, "i would look good as [the opposite of my gender]" ? i did it the other day on my snapchat n didnt think anything of it then but now im concerned if its a shitty thing to do.

this might apply to anyone thats genderqueer too but im not sure? anyway if anyone wants to offer their thoughts/feelings pls do i would v much appreciate it
it's cisnormative so it's kinda insensitive but imo it's just avg cis ignorance? so many trans ppl might not find it offensive, but it should still be avoided, since it perpetuates cisnormativity.
and i personally find it more insensitive/offensive when cis ppl tell me or any other binary trans person tht "omg u look better than me!". this statement is also based on cisnormativity, but it's much worse cuz it implies trans ppl should look worse than cis ppl of the same gender or look less like a certain gender than cis ppl.

also: genderqueer is a valid id imo but u shouldn't use it to describe trans ppl since queer is a slur many ppl aren't comfortable with! trans is an umbrella term for both nb and binary trans identities but if u wanna talk specifically abt nb ppl just use nb ppl!

i hope i explained it well?? u can ask me if i wasn't too clear!
hm yea i think i will avoid that in the future, easier to just not do it than to hurt someone even w out meaning to.

ahh shit i think i meant to use nonbinary but got that word mixed up w genderqueer! sorry and thanks for letting me know! @dontcha

Btw have you tried using FaceApp? It has a male/female filter, which is kinda fun. While it didn't really work out well using my own face, the filters went perfectly with one of my dad's pictures, lmao

i never got the chance!! i heard it was kinda problematic tho, bc the "hot" filter significantly whitened ppls' skin? but otherwise it does seem fun lol, esp when it fits well @Belfigor

I don't know tbh. I thought it was a vampire filter. It made dad's pic look kinda scary
