I feel like a common misconception is that you need to be serious to be smart.
You need to have a big vocabulary and a very serious demeanor.
Or rude and cold. People who are not concerned with silly things like being nice or fun.
"If I'm a bitch, that's just bc they can't comprehend my intelligence" kind of.
This is not a new fucking revelation. It's super old and people have talked about it many times before. But that's what baffles me....
I feel like people still exist that think that assholes or super serious people are the only fucking common denominator in being intelligent or smart.
That you can't say cringy stuff or be a silly or super nice person. Especially not in the same sentence as saying something incredibly valid and smart.
It has almost become my own test for testing if people are smart or not. Like. If you think someone who is cringy or silly is automatically stupid, most likely, you are stupid. Or if you think someone can't have a very good argument or point just bc they spell horribly or used that one word wrong.... stupid.
I could draw it to smiley use too. But I think that's kinda mean to call someone stupid for just not liking smileys... that's more in the territory of personal preference, I guess... though I would be lying if I didn't admit that I think it's silly for people to react so strongly about smiley use.
To me it's kinda like not liking how someones voice sounds or how someone talks. You would probably not be like "could you please not talk like that? " but you can totally still find it super annoying and hard to take them seriously bc of it.
I know I hate when people use too many shortenings for words dat I feel lik m losin half of d cnction wile talkin on a phone.
And I've certainly been guilty of voicing that.... sorry.
Anyways. I... kinda lost my train of thought or why I wanted to say this. I hope you're all good!
Do you have any text thing you do that people has said to you they don't like?
