It's not bad at all. But I'm not sure if you mean this job is a label that we get or if it is supposed to be seen as actual jobs where you have some quests you have to do when working, a bit like the tours?
Either ways, I don't think it's a bad idea. It'll give the game some more game like features to it as well, which is great for the days where the threads are almost completely silent.

I thought the app-idea was off the table because it would be too expensive to make ? Not sure tho .. And what I've heared is that in the beginning of the new year there would be some more updates

I don't know. I feel like Kaj made an announcement like that at some point, but I don't quite remember if he actually did.
I just remember he extended the launch date to sometime in the end of 2018. But I think there were another update telling us about how some of the guys doing the programming were too expensive or quiting or smth.

I dont really know tho.. But the programmers are only availably from january on , which is why the big updates have to wait untill at least then
