if it get very painful, take painkillers and/or take it out
but very new piercings usually tend to be painful af

Normal. Odd that you're instructed to move it already though.

just keep saltwatering it, it cleans the bad stuff out. helix is a piercing that goes through "bone", so it will definitely be painful for a while

anyway i dont recommend moving it bc stuff from ur fingers can get in and it might get infected bc its new! remember 2 wash ur hands

With my piercings I was instructed to clean regularly but I had to let the heal piercing stay in for a month (the piercing they use to make it) before moving/changing/taking it out.

i don’t have a helix but I was instructed the exactly same in all of my other piercings.

I got mine a year ago. It did hurt a lot the first week. After that I could finally sleep on that side of my head again. But I was very lucky because I barely felt pain, but it is quite normal yes. But after 6 months I finally changed mine and when I wanted to put the new one in the next day, it didn’t get trough so I had to get trough a small layer of skin and it started bleeding as hell. It can take a while before it is totally healed. My piercer said I should change the earring after 8 months (but after six I got bored with the ugly earring in it so wanted to change). But now a year later it is finally healed and I can do with it what I can.

Ao my advice is to not touch it for a while, not even clean it to often. Just when you are in the shower you can sometimes clean it a bit with the water, but don’t touch it to much. When you touch it to much the wound inside goes open everytime.. and it will take longer and longer to heal.

thank you all for sharing your experiences!!

i still cant sleep on the helix side, but the other side is just fine. the nasty stuff has just started coming out of the helix, so thats a good sign that its healing! going smoothly so far, so hoping there won't be any complications FINGERS CROSSED
