On that part I agree, that its a poor excuse for bad behaviour. But I think that person is one of the very few who feel that way. I've never met any danes thinking catcalling is in any way charming (except for those who do it).
But admitting they wouldn't mind it if they were in the situation, is just a matter of personal opinion.

it's really unnecessary to announce that if op didn't ask though. like, imagine if you had a miscarriage and were understandably broken up about it, and someone came up to you and said "i wouldn't be that upset if i had a miscarriage". it's just rude and uncalled for.

me sharing a personally bad experience and someone going "okay but i wouldnt mind"
and i wonder if they would really say that if they were out at night as a girl and a man began following them
