mega credit week

In December’s mega credit week, which was the week from 2nd to 8th December, there were two sets per cr package. This meant that there were a total of twenty sets, twelve for females and eight for males! Apart from the usual Solovey sets, all the others were made by talented designers from our server, including Eifos, Lily, Ad0xa, Mikkelrev, Gravitation, Dani, Crown, Shadowjess, Eve, Chalya and Pearlnet.

As a general theme, a lot of the sets were winter inspired, perfect for the season! This month had a lot of great variety though, ranging from fun christmas sweaters and sledges, to beautiful flowers, gold jewellery and glittery shoes to get you ready for New Year’s.

€48 female by Eifos and Lily, €12 female by Crown and Pearlnet, €12 male by Mikkelrev, €24 female by Ad0xa, €24 male by Dani

And just as a little reminder, January’s mcw is not happening this current week even though January starts tomorrow. Due to the change in year, the first mcw of 2020 is postponed until next week and will start 6 January.

auction

The monthly auction, and the last of the year, happened Saturday 7th December, and as usual included four sets. The female sets were both mainly red and white, while the male sets were in brown tones with some pops of fun, bright colours. The female PD set were made by Chalya and the CR was a collaboration between Lily and Eve, while for males Eve designed the PD set and Dani CR.

December gave us some of the well known competitions we love, but also some new surprises. Let’s take a look!

SMT hosted two who wore it best competitions this month, as they’ve done lately, and both with a seasonal flare. The first one was themed after the Christian celebration observed 13 December of Lucia or Saint Lucy’s Day. Inspired by the Scandinavian tradition of ‘Luciatog’, for this competition you were supposed to style either st Lucia’s crown of candles or the starboy hat, which you could get from an unlimited code provided in the forum. As well as the unlimited Lucia items, SMT’s designer Ad0xa made the prize items for this competition, which were a green hair and yellow star hair clips for both genders, though the hairs were slightly different.

The second wwib competition was inspired by another Christian holiday observed in December, namely Christmas. For the Christmas wwib, the items to style were a little green elf dress for females and a red “ugly christmas sweater” for males, both to be found for pd in the fashion shop as normal. The prize, which was the same for both genders, was a cute white teddy bear designed by Mikkelrev.

ET also had a theme over their two competitions this month - winter. Both posted on the same day, though one a dress up competition to finish off the four seasons, and the other, something we don’t see too often, a photography competition. For the dress up competition you were supposed to create an outfit based on ice or snow, and the forum quickly got filled with white and blue looks. The prizes for this competition were wintery street style sets for both genders, female made by Gravitation and male by Moss.

For a chance to win the beautiful prizes from the photography competition, you were to post a photo you have taken yourself that you think represent the theme winter. Though, as not everyone lives somewhere with white winters, your entry did not have to include snow. The female prize is designed by Mordiera and Perlivian, while the male prize is again by Moss. We are still yet to find out the winners of the two ET competitions, so good luck to everyone who entered!

The last competition to talk about this time was hosted by a different team than the two that usually hosts competitions, ForumTeam. For FT’s dress up competition, you were supposed to create a look based on one of your New Year’s resolutions. Such a vague theme like this opens for a lot of variety in looks, which is really nice to see. The prizes for this competition, as you can see below, was a set made by Solovey for females and by Dani for males.

Congratulations to all winners of this month’s competitions!

Advent calendar
For four years in a row, the Event Team have hosted an Advent calendar throughout December and this year wasn’t any different. The Advent calendar ran from 1st December to 25th December and the codes were unlimited and mostly Dollzmania items. A huge thank you to ET for organizing this and we are already looking forward to the one next year.

Pass the parcel
The Event Team also hosted a forum game where the purpose was to gift the person above you in the forum something such as; popdollars, credits, wishlist items and so on. This event seemed to be greatly appreciated among the community and the forum reached around 150 pages during the time the event was live.

Style your advent calendar
As a little side event to the Advent calendar, the Event Team had a forum where everyone could dress up by using the item/items that were given out through the calendar. There are 10 pages with beautiful outfits made by the VP community.

Secret Santa
Another annual event is VP’s Secret Santa which were hosted by the Social Media Team this year. The purpose of the event is that people sign up to be a part of the event and then they get a person they need to give a gift to, it’s basically a big gift giving event for everyone on VP.

Daily Christmas raffle
Throughout December the Social Media Team also hosted a daily raffle where they gave away copies of old prizes to some lucky people! You could only win once unless stated otherwise and some days there was more than only one winner depending on how copies the SMT had left.

We would like to thank all the teams for all their fun events during 2019 and we are really looking forward to what will come in 2020!

We’re approaching a new year, and perhaps a new fun page prize? Who knows, but either way, we wanted to add a little reminder that we are still open for fun page submissions, because we love to see all the creativity you all have. So if you have something you think is funny or creative that you have made yourself, and want it to be featured in the magazine, please send it in a message to the NewsTeam account titled “Fun page submission”.

We are looking forward to a new year of creativity!

We would also still love to continue the User of the Month section in our magazine, so please continue to nominate people you think are making VP a better place! Whether that is by making interesting forums or just in general be a positive influence on the forums, writing / creating fun, informative or inspiring blogs, hosting amazing competitions, or whatever it may be that someone is doing that have a positive influence on your day on VP. Please send the name of the person you want to nominate and why in a message to the NewsTeam account titled “User of the Month nomination”.

Spread kindness and positivity, always.

It’s interesting how fast a year can fly by. To think about that it’s a year since we started coming up with the ideas for the magazine, and that we’re now posting our 12th one, feels almost surreal. We’re so grateful for all the good feedback we’ve gotten over the past year, and are looking forward to provide more monthly magazines in the year to come!

We have covered anything from the monthly competitions and mega credit weeks, to team applications and the bigger May update. It has been fun for all of us to really be news reporters for VP, and to play with codes and layout themes. Over the year, the magazine have gone through some style changes, pages have been added, and practical improvements have been made, and we are looking to continue to improve and give you the best monthly magazines we can in 2020!

Happy New Year from all of us in the NewsTeam!

"Quote" button don`t work (to me, at least). Hypoxic, I had the same problem, and it was solved by zoom (changed page size to maximum, and then I could hit the snowflake)

The reason why the elf code has already expired is because it was originally supposed to be used earlier in December, but when things didn't work out that way we made a last minute decision of including it in the magazine. We know it's not ideal for it to already be expired, and we are trying to see if a solution can be made, but nothing will happen until tomorrow, I'm afraid.
