(GoT & first episode review, contains spoilers for the first episode!)

Blood, gore, fantasy, kingdoms - If you're into these things, then Game of Thrones might definitely be the TV-show for you. But I'm telling you, this is no fairy tale. If sweet romances and happy endings is what you're looking for then turn away, quickly! Quickly, before this TV-show has engraved its presence into your mind.

I remember seeing commercial of it on TV. I remember hearing a lot of people talk about it. I remember wondering what all the fuss was about. And I remember being interested - I've always had a thing for fantasy. Yes, those were the innocent days. And then, one day, it happened. I saw it, the very first episode, and I knew that I was screwed. I was glued

This show has a lot of characters. That was one thing that hit me when I saw the first episode of GoT. And as I continued watching the show, I realized, the first episode really wrapped everything up very neatly. We were greeted by the most essential of characters and the basic plot of the show was already clear from the start and at the same time it rose a lot of questions, and I found myself eagerly wanting answers. And the characters. Where do I start? So many, yet so complex. Each and every one of them. All of them interesting and with their own stories to tell, each with their own diverse aspirations and desires, and there really is no telling what they'll do. And I found this very enthralling, because it is not often characters manage to capture my attention. Yet these sure managed to! I noticed this when I continued watching it, but the first episode gave me a real good feeling about the characters. It showed how different they are in their ways and minds, and it's really amazing how they managed to do that considering the amount of characters that were introduced.

And the scenery! The clothes! The buildings! Everything is so well made and beautiful, I almost felt like I was watching a movie! I barely had the feeling that is was a TV-show at all. It just felt so real! And may I add, I loved the intro. I remember seeing it for the first time and just got so excited to see the rest of the episode. I mean look at it (well, a part of it)!

Aesthetic.

Another thing I must point out with this show is that it brings out so strong emotions in me. And they're not pretty emotions. Anger, disgust, horror - I felt it already the first episode. Like when that one scumbag of a brother practically sells his sister, Khaleesi as she's later called, to some guy she haven't even met and forces her to marry him which also leads to other things she's forced into. Or when Bran, who's only a young kid, is forced to watch an innocent man get beheaded, or at the end of the episode when that very same young boy gets pushed down from a far too high height for accidentally catching a brother and a sister doing some quite faulty things. It was just one 'no' after another and it had me ranting curses in my mind. But it's not like those upsetting things aren't intentional. No, all the dark things in this show are carefully (or not so carefully) baked in deliberately. As disturbing as they are, it shows, it truly shows, how ominous society can become. How ominous society pretty much has been throughout the history, and how ominous it probably still is in some places. It's a mind opener, a reality check, and this show sure hides nothing. Sugarcoating? What's that!

As the maliciousness in this show kills me, I can't help but to stay in wonder as well. After I had seen the first episode I was so intrigued that I had to keep watching it, episode after episode, season after season. I got so curious, and the fantasy element made me want to see more. I mean, White Walkers? What the heck is that?! And dragon eggs? Oh, yes please. When the episode starts with some guys in a winter-clad forest we get to see some White Walker action, and it was so gory that I almost had to look away, but I really couldn't because I wanted to see what would happen to those poor guys. I was almost at the edge of my seat, yelling 'Just run for it!'.

This show is so well made, and while it haunts me it got me wrapped around it's cunning little finger. The first episode made me get stuck, like I had been staring at a pool of quicksand and when I finally stepped in it I couldn't get out of it. There is no telling how this show will end, and this show has me sitting in suspension, hoping my favourite characters won't die, and just silently watch while it takes my breath away. And it's amazing how it managed to do this to me already on the first episode. I'm not that easily hooked, but that first episode sure captured me right away.

I love this. The description is well made and even making me wanna
watch it myself. It sounds awesome, but I might end up not. Though, don't
worry haha! It's not that the show is bad; I just tend to forget. But yeah, definitely an amazing review. Glad I took time to read this.
