Prologue

Arias' POV

The day my sister was born was a tragical tale. I was only four years of age when it happened.

It was a very beautiful may afternoon, early that day it sprinkled, so you can still taste the rain. The clouds blocked the sun, but you can still feel the warmth.

Mama lay in bed with her stomach hurting as it was the day for her to give birth to the second child of our kingdom. Everyone was so happy, not minding the weather, hoping for a healthy, little boy, so there will be an heir to take over the throne. As because I am only four at the time I wasn't allowed in the room as Mother gave birth to my younger sibling, so I waited impatiently at the door. I heard cries and someone also in the room encouraging Mama, Papa was also there as well. There was no sound coming from the room, which I found strange because Malissa, one of my nannies, said babies cried when they were born. I was curious, so I went  into the room.

The sight that I saw was of Mama in Papa's arm asleep, while Malissa nursed the baby. What I didn't understand was why the baby didn't cry, I heard no sound coming from the baby. As I was taught by Malissa that babies cry a lot, I asked her, "Why isn't the baby crying?"

She smiled at me forcefully, answering "Your little sister is asleep."

I don't even remember how I was back then, I was just curious.

Papa noticing for the first time that I was in the room smiled, even though everyone was hoping for a baby boy, but instead got a baby girl. At that time I didn't know that the reason my baby sister wasn't crying was because she was born very sick. I was only a child then so I didn't know anything, I didn't even know why I am the way I am. It was a joyous day, but I never even smiled once, which isn't actually usual.

As the story goes, that night when everyone was asleep a misfortune had befallen the kingdom of Anetha; death took my mother away, the queen. No one knew until morning when Papa couldn't wake mama up no matter what. He had to call upon the court physician because she was freezing cold. The physician told Papa and everyone else what had happen, since I was four then I didn't know what was going on. I would always ask about Mama, and everyone would only say "Your Mama is now in a better place." The weird thing is, I never shed a tear that day, nor any other days. It wasn't as easy for Papa though because he had understood what was happening and it broke his heart, knowing he lost the love of his life.

When I was five and my sister was only nine months old, they took her away one night and never brought her back.

I didn't really understand why then, all I knew was that she was never coming back. No one really expected a 5 year old to understand anything though. Papa explained to me that she was taken to the care of a powerful woman who can help her but only if she stay with the woman. I didn't understand why Papa sent her away, but by the time I was ten, I had long forgotten what happened that day, it wasn't until I was 15 years of age that I was told of the tragic. Even then I did not shed a tear nor cried out for my dear sister.

It's seems even back then I never cry nor smile, I've always been the way I had been for so long.

Third Person POV

"This is the only way, I won't let her die, she is also very important to me as well, she will play a great role in more ways than one, concerning many people, she is not destined to die yet. She still has a fate that she must fulfill, even as much hardship as she has to face along the way. That is all I can tell you, many things can only be learned as time pass by."

"But must she stay with you?"

"Yes, princess Lumina needs to be train because when she grows up to be the beautiful girl that she is, she will bring joy to many, who believed they can no longer enjoy life, even me for that matter."

"Very well, as you have helped me and Sophie out once, I shall trust you with my daughter." The king spoke his last words, and then leaving the cottage with the princess still in the hands of the witch who once help him through a life and death situation.

The door wasn't slammed but because of the quietness it caused a lot more noises then usual. The witch sighed at the noise, taking the baby in her arm heading out to the wood's clearing. As she stood there looking at the pale baby girl in the moonlight, she shook her head. "I guess I should actually heal you." She placed a finger on the princess's forehead causing there to be a little, golden light. It was a miraculous touch, as soon as the golden light disappear, colors starts to make it's way to the child's face, causing to not be as pale as it was before. The only problem would be that there's always a little something that will be concerned dealing with a witch, saying this the all powerful witch of Anetha has a secret of her own.

"It sure is a beautiful night," she whispered to the sleeping princess in her arms. "I shall rename you Muna after the beautiful moon. The moon sure is luminous today isn't it, Muna?" As if answering her question the baby smiled a soft smile. She headed back inside with the nine month old baby in her hands.
