Well I wouldn't say common, but what I have seen and heard is that shinx was first shiny pokemon for many pokemon players in pearl/platinium/diamond versions. Since Shinx isn't in some gens. Idk maybe it depends on what game you are playing.

In moon/sun we both have to play moon XD
But I can play ruby since the trade and battle is connected with x and y. (idk how to explain)
and if asking why, it's because ruby/sapphire re make was made and released right after x and y. C:

shiny skarmory and pignite. I also had one more, but I don't remember what was it. But it was in my black 2 if I remember correctly.

It would have been a lot easier if all games were connected like that but it does make sense why they aren't
I see I see. I have gotten a few hacked shiny pokemon from wonder trade
Even some legendaries but my favorite was a shiny ditto with perfect IV's though that's rare. 98% of all wonder trades are pretty worthless. Have you had any luck in wonder trade?
