u dont know the difference between a joke n an actual statement?
i do, but many authors of shows like southpark don't seem to know
isnt southpark a comedy/sitcom i wouldnt expect any serious statements from a cartoon
so anyone can just claim what they do is comedy and get away with offensive stuff? idk about that

like monty python
offensive af, also funny af, every punchline lands

south park: uh okay so why exactly was that a joke? where's the punchline?

4 me when it comes to jokes i think nothing is off limits as long as its not like illegal or like i dont think children should be subjected to certain things n stuff like that but

n the reason i think that is bec we cant rly pick n choose of what should be not allowed to joke about and what isnt. like i have things that r personally offensive 2 me but it wouldnt tell somebody else to not be able to joke about it just bec I dont like it
Do you think it's okay to joke, for example, about the Holocaust? Because if we go by your argument, we could not tell someone to not joke about this because we *don't* (it's more about respecting the victims) like it

Like what is the difference between a offensive statement and offensive humor?
Eg Southpark, it is considered humor but there are no jokes or typical structure of humor or satire
a joke iz a joke if intended az a joke I feel like
It's whether or not it'z a good joke. A bad joke won't sound like a joke and won't make ppl laugh

I mean, if you're not Jewish it's not your tragedy to joke about. You can still do whatever you want but free speech doesn't make you immune to criticism or people just generally thinking you're a dick.

this is an important point, if you write something on the internet, expect a response and a response to that response
free speech is not a one way street

I see a lot of people crying free speech after being criticised for their behaviour. It's so dumb.

I find it pretty offensive, although it would obviously be worse if it was a joke made by a non-jewish person.
I just don't understand why people ask for "free speech" when it comes, in this case, to make offensive and hurtful jokes about serious episodes of history.
I believe they really aren't asking for free speech, but rather to not get criticized for doing offensive shit and expect everyone to accept it and shut up

Well then I could go around saying (another example) that black people are "monkeys" and you could not criticize me because its "free speech" and it's "ok" to joke about it because it "shouldn't be taken seriously". I find this just a way to hurt others and expect it to be taken as a joke or funny without facing consequences for the dumb shit you say

People tend to laugh about their own tragedies, it's human nature. It's fine as long as it's not at the expense of the suffering of other people.
