Hello everyone!
January 28th is the day we celebrate the 2017 Chinese New Year! It is based on the lunar calendar, so it takes place on a different date each year. As you may or may not know, the Chinese zodiac moves in a twelve year cycle and each cycle is associated with an animal. This year's animal is the rooster or cockerel, which means 2017 is the Year of the Rooster. People born in 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993 or 2005 are known as "roosters". This year is specifically known as the year of the Fire Rooster, which last occurred in 1957.
To celebrate the holiday, it is customary to give out red envelopes to friends and family with money inside. The tradition has become so popular that there are even apps now that allow teens to give red envelopes out virtually. Below you'll discover fortunes for both(male and female). Male fortunes are the desaturated red envelopes whereas female fortunes are the bright red envelopes. ET and the Designer Team wanted to continue this tradition with you, so ad0xa, ShadowJess and Dani were kind enough to design sets to help us all bring in the Chinese New Year. Make sure to stop by and thank them for all of their hard work. Also, please compliment Tezzica on the gorgeous layout! Happy Chinese New Year!
