how exactly does the majority suffer from not seeing that 12 people liked whatever bullshit they posted? i fail to see the issue here. furthermore, how is this even remotely close to communism? i think  you have misunderstood the fundamental idea behind communism, which is what is best for the entire society is what should be triumphant, not "let's do something that benefits this marginal group because we have decided they alone are more important than the community". honestly, if whoever owns instagram has decided that it is for the greater good, i.e. what's best for the entire user-base, that's good. mental health should be taken seriously.
insecure people that shouldnt be on social media for their own good (and others) get special treatment. how do the minority of insecure ig users get to dictate what is best for the entire app? obviously they have a clouded judgement

if i'm somebody that is insecure, i'm not going around making sure OTHER people are affected by my OWN insecurities that are MY problems. why do EVERYBODY have to hold these insecure peoples hands when they arent their problem??? thats my issue

social media is in general an issue i'm not interested in the subject.

I have a different theory: most people on social media are insecure human beings, and so reasonably. The "they" you refer to must be Facebook then, since they own Instagram as well. You realize these are the flagships of social media yes? and not only social media as big corporations but social media as an experiment. why on earth do people even start to consider that what we've learned about social media today is anywhere close to what we'll end up knowing in the future? no matter how easy it is to forget, we are the first generations to ever operate social media as we see it today. we don't know or understand the full consequences, we are only touching on different aspects of it - good and bad.
