"Have you explored the town yet?" Logan asked Lori, as they were packing their bags. The bell had rung, and he couldn't wait to go see the rock. He was probably making a much bigger deal out of it, than it needed to be, but he had always thought Lori was pretty cool, and was looking forward to hanging out with her. He also hadn't seen much of the town himself, so he didn't really have any idea where they were going.

Lori sighed dramatically before answering Logan's question. 

"If there was anything to explore. Trust me, the only interesting thing that has ever happened in Silent Hollows is that god forsaken rock.", She grabbed her bag and stood up.

"I'm going to be royally pissed if it's actually just a dumb rock.", She wasn't holding her hopes too high though since they had pretty much only sent Lori's parents, another couple of scientists and apparently Logan's parents, it wasn't that big of a project. She remembered that one time, with a purple lake in Montana. Must've spent at least a year there, hundreds of scientist working alongside her parents. 

"My lucky Penny", Lori greeted Penny as she found her standing outside the school. "Penny, this is Logan. Logan, meet Penny. He's got nothing better to do, so therefore he'll be joining us today", She said.

Logan nodded at Penny's question. "Yeah, Lori and I moved here at the same time," he said. "I guess it was lucky we ran into each other today." He looked at Lori as he spoke, then back at Penny and smiled awkwardly. Realising he didn't know what else to say to keep the conversation going, he felt his cheeks flush ever so slightly. He didn't have much experience talking with girls – Lori was probably the closest he came to having a female friend.
