although there are some rare instances where i think abortions would be be the better choice like incest/rape or if the mother may die or greatly suffer physically if she were to give birth normally

i don't think it's morally right to kill an unborn child just because it's inconvenient for the mother to keep it
lmao yes let's a lot of people who don't want kids to raise kids so the kids feel unwanted and shit, sounds like a solid plan.
lmao yes let's allow women to kill their unborn children. sounds like a solid plan.

I wouldn't call it "pro-abortion" that can give a different context.

I guess I'm more on the pro-choice side. I don't like abortion of course. I think we could and should make efforts to reduce the number of them. Everyone should be taught about protection, because preaching abstinence won't prevent pregnancy.
There are cases where abortions are definitely necessary, especially if the mother could die during childbirth.
If abortions were illegal then people would just resort to unsafe methods, "the coathanger" wouldn't be just some dark joke anymore.

Definitely. The couples and people that do decide to sleep together should do their best to use the protection that is provided so the unplanned pregnancies don't occur. But sometimes even then it's bound to happen not to mention if someone idk purposely makes their significant other pregnant (at least that's how i'm here lol).

Speaking of abortions being illegal - i'm happy that finally South Korea made a choice to make abortion legal after what 66 years. Especially knowing the sudden rise in rape culture there (at least in the news) i think it was a good move.

i'm pro choice.   that doesn't mean i'm pro-abortion - it means i'm pro-people having the power to choose for themselves

I probably should have worded the op a lil bit better to pro-choice but seeing all of the sides and opinions of people isn't bad either.

Pro-choice of course.

Gotta love how men are always the loudest anti-abortion activists. Just another way to prevent women from having control over their own bodies.

why should women get to decide the fate over their unborn children? how is it fair that women get total control over another life?

it's not about preventing women from having control over their own bodies. it's about being the voice for the unborn child that is unable to have a say in this

because it's growing in their body. therefore it is about preventing people from having control over their own bodies.
someone is saying "i want to remove something from my body" and you're answering "no, you're not allowed." how is that not taking away someone's bodily autonomy?

it should also be noted there's no such thing as no abortion, only no safe abortion. if you try to stop someone from being able to make a choice about their own body, they will find another way around it that involves more risk to their own health and potentially even their life.

my personal opinion is actually pretty in line with the Roe vs Wade SCOTUS decision.

to put it very simply- the court recognized that a unborn child is a human life and therefore has certain rights, but a fully grown adult woman also has the right to bodily autonomy. so they split the difference and said early on in the pregnancy- a womans bodily autonomy is valued above the unborn child's right to life- and later on in the pregnancy, once the child is closer to being able to live outside of the mother- the right to life should be valued above the mother's bodily autonomy.

so im pro choice- but i think that the pro life view is valid- these are people who see an unborn child as a human life. these are people who believe abortion to be literal murder and i cannot hate someone for wanting to make illegal the murder of a child. the real question here is when does human life become a 'person' with the rights that personhood comes with? when does the new person's right to live outweigh the existing person's right to bodily autonomy?

you can do whatever you want with your body as long as it's not hurting anyone but having an abortion will hurt the unborn child. want to get yourself a new tattoo? do it. want to get a nose piercing? do it. want to end an innocent life? hell no.

it's against the law to murder too but that doesn't stop it from happening. i think it's important to have a guideline as to what's wrong and right.

I actually did not know about the first part. Thanks for sharing that.
