to be honest with you, you have so much hair.  if this is one box, thats nowhere near enough bleach for that much hair .

i dont think the hair looks that bad, its just looks like you have weird highlights fading out

dont try and do that much hair by yourself, it's near impossible to cover everything evenly
tbh i have really thin hair. i even had left over bleach that i tried to get in there
and it's short too - i am going to cut it after bleaching though..
that hair is not short girl omg

box bleach is shitty but if you're going to use it then its about 1 box per 7 inches of hair or so .

if you had left over bleach im 100% sure it wasnt covered evenly
lol i was holding the hair with my hand and leaned my head towards the camera. My hair is between the shoulders and the chest

what dye has been on it before?  do you know when you applied it, and what colour it was?  and how harsh it was ie    did it have ammonia
I had black hair idk it was done at the hair salon, not with box dye.

if you put black dye over blonde, that stuff is *never* coming out further than a dark brown or a neon red after intense bleaching unless you regrow the hair from scratch ... the hairdresser should have told you this sad

i have naturally blonde hair, i dyed it brown first, then went darker over time BUT it was bleached and i was blonde for a while, then went back to brown at the salon, and then twice dyed it black.

the thing is, even though it looks like the hair is back to the original state once its been treated, its really not and everything youve done to it in the past has to be accounted for.

the bleach > ripped out the red tones from the brown
the salon brown > added more red tones
2 black dyes >   the hardest shit to get out except for green and blue dye. especially if it was box dye.

you would have to lift the hair SO much that it would start to fall apart.

ideally when you lift hair colour, you need to lift and replace.

you cant lift and lift and lift    because it destroys the hair structure.

so we lighten with bleach >   fill with toner or an acceptable dye.

then treat the hair whether with conditioner, oil or a treatment like olaplex (the best)

and you repeat that process til its as light as possible.

the thicker the hair, the more you can do this -   think of it like layers around the hair, each time u do it youre ripping off a "real" layer and replacing with a weaker, "fake" layer. so even if you add a "fake" layer of colour, its not the same as your real colour. when you try to remove the fake, chemical colour, some of it will grip to the hair (staining it) and some will lift really easily (fade away).
and the "real" layers are the core structure of the hair - so you're essentially weakening the hair everytime you do it.  and when you bleach the final core bit, thats when hair starts to stretch and pull, or simply fall out because there's no strength left and the natural structural integrity of the hair is ruined.

on top of that, colour theory applies. even if you have bleached or dyed on top of a previous colour, you need to cancel out that colour before you redye, if youre going for a major colour change.

for example, if you have green hair, and you want red hair, you need double or triple the amount of red to cancel out green

the red green scale is a straight line as theyre complimentary colours
so
red (3)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>    neutral (0) brown  <<<<<<<<<<<<<, green (-3)

if youre at green, you need to keep adding red to neutralise up to 3 (pure red)
but of course, your hair has a limited amount of space. you cant keep pouring paint into a bucket that is full, and expect it to carry more paint. you need to pour out some - which is when you lift with bleach

so its a long process.

thick hair stands up to more of this.  thin hair has less "layers" so you get less chance.
natural dark hair has less absorbent layers. natural blonde hair is more porous and will take in dye easier because theres less strong natural colour in it to begin with.

basically in future, apply this logic to whatever you choose to do with your hair.

with your naturally thin, blonde hair,
your hair has soaked up the black dye like water to sponge

black dye has an intense red undertone so you need to take that into consideration when you make your next move.

you also can get "bands" of colour around the hair, because the hair has been treated differently as its growing out. getting this to gradient smoothly during the bleaching process can be chaotic and very difficult....

...this is why hairdressers charge so much.

my personal advice to you would be to put on a mousey brown dye with no ammonia.  and no more bleaching until you can afford a hairdresser!

you could also contact colleges/apprenticeship type places that teach hairdressing and offer yourself up as a practice model for students.

this can be a cheap way to have your hair done, provided you accept it may not be perfect salon quality
