Is VP worth investing in?

As the title says, is this place worth investing in/playing anymore??? I want to buy credits for the MCM sets this month but paying anywhere between 48-70 in my currency while improvement here is slow and it seems all good suggestions get ignored does not make me confident to do so, idk how the few people paying the higher amounts for credits and stuff feel about doing so at this time but...yeah  for ex. I bought Manager and diamond for the first time and while i earned the credits to do so, It doesn't appear the scheduled set i bought diamond for is coming this week. i'm not sure what that's about but again, it doesn't inspire confidence

i couldnt tell you tbh, obviously vp is going nowhere without funding and user contributions, but dont let that influence your decision honestly. if the administration was more transparent, investing time and money in the site might feel less like a leap of faith, but thats not the case so trust your own instincts and dont give the site more of your time and/or money than what youre comfortable with.
that being said, dm not coming on time isnt something we typically have to worry about, so the fact that it has happened more than once within a short time frame is really unfortunate. it was an accident, there was a set and it will be sent out asap im sure :3

also,, abt developments n updates and such. etjen has been fairly open about what he plans to do, in what order, and how the sites financial situation is delaying it. and maybe it's naive of me, but i do think he listens. he isnt a vp player and he never was, so he is reliant on user feedback to know what the site needs. bsp for instance, is a direct answer to user suggestions and complaints. the idea is to reward people for logging in instead of punishing them for not doing so like vp is designed to do.
and it's a good idea on paper, but he doesnt have much knowledge and understanding of the site, and it kinda shows in the way it's being executed. had he been more present and involved, he would have come to understand vp by now, but he chose to be an elusive background character who doesnt interract unless he has to. which is a bad strategy, communication and trust is vital in a community as small as ours.

(i would too tbh, our catalogue of 12 years worth of items is phenomenal and unmatched n the community is the only sane corner of the internet ive been able find, it would b a tragic if smn were to happen to it)

Sometimes mistakes happen, and DM sets are usually sent out; if not on time, then usually within the weekend it needed to be sent out to.

Whether it's worth investing or not depends on what you value. I would say it's an evil spiral to not invest because nothing is happening, because then less will happen due to lack of funds etc. etc.

I personally think it's good to invest when possible. This website has been alive for 12+ years, which makes the website more sustainable than similar dress-up sites that have had less time alive, a fucked economy and what seems to be a rather high budget they need to keep up with money-wise for it all to be sustainable. If this website got the same amount of funding (by users investing) the money could, theoretically, be better used for the features and things the users enjoy.

see this is my concern, if him choosing to be a background character is already a bad thing, will it continue for the worse?? I've witnessed in the last week or two a good handful of peoples gripe with him and it reminds me of other games that are barely being updated or have management that doesn't care...for instance, after BSP april was announced the entire topic had concerns or instances where he wronged them, even if they were maybe joking...if you wrong the designers, who will design or even WANT to?? and that goes for other staff, if the people working on the site and for our betterment are ignored, will they continue to fight?

i'm not upset or worried about the DM itself, it was just my example. any machine needs to be well oiled and i'm just a tad worried about, if it will get better for staff because that will trickle down to how well VP will run...Sorry for another long paragraph but, hope that made sense? @Aske

I know the DM issue is unrelated to etjen and i'm not upset or anything, it just happened to be in-line with my worry of if management is not communicating well with staff or if staff (staff or volunteers? im not sure)  member's feel ignored, will VP continue to run and smoothly

i will also say like in terms of "investment"... if u think the dress up is fun and you have the cash then yeah i dont think its any less worth it than any other dress up site tbh, tho atm itd be primarily for the sets and not the credits since buying and selling is a bit dead

Oh okay, thank you! i noticed selling is a little bit dead for sure, hard to clear the wishlist but, i see users i haven't seen before coming on and selling so idk maybe as people visit?

I just wanted to know everyones opinion because i've only been playing consistently since october, if people who have been playing consistently for years believe in the future of VP then that is reassuring, it's when even the most loyal players no longer see a point that i kind of get worried, so thank you for replying @devilcake
