I used to see variations of this RP everywhere, so I'm going to simplify the idea a bit and see what happens.
Welcome to Dilly Valley, a small town named after the absurd amount of Daffodils that uncharacteristically grow in the area. The town appears to be average, aside from it's quirky flower traits, and no one would suspect the complicated lives hidden beneath it's smiling surface.
The town is home to two families, ones that have lived there for several generations. There is, of course, the Brooks family, with it's two sons and one daughter. Often erring on the conservative side of life, they hold plenty of sway in the town's local government. Then there is the River family, whom houses two adoptive daughters. Their free-spirited views sings to the community with a lot of sway from the arts community. These two families are often at odds with each other for one reason or another, but the real story is what lies the families spew to cover up each of their unfortunate tragedies, awful decisions, and downright law-breaking shenanigans.
Secrets don't remain buried forever though, and the harder we clutch them to our chests, the easier they slip through our fingers...
I'll try and keep the rules simple here too.
-Due to the amount of minors I'm certain are running around this site, all content is to be kept appropriate for them to accidentally stumble over and read. I must ask that if things become graphic, they are removed from public view, or transitioned over with a nicely worded timeskip.
-I've been doing roleplays for ten years, and I learned on various sites, so if I use unfamiliar terminology, just let me know and I'll do my best to explain it.
-I really don't care about how you write your posts so long as I can read them properly.
-Joining is easy. I'll leave a form out for you to fill in, and just privately message it to me with the subject title being the role you wish to fill. If all of the main family spots are taken, you can get creative with what role you wish to play.
-I'm a pretty friendly person, so if you're ever confused, feel free to ask me any questions you have.
-I ask that all OOC chatter be taken to an >>>OOC HANGOUT<<<.
-Each character will have one secret. Make it creative, and if you don't have ideas, then I'll leave a brief list below with some examples. You can either pick from there or make one up. You MAY NOT have a secret someone else already has. For example, if someone is addicted to something, you may not share that addiction.
-This RP will have NO supernatural elements. No vamipres, fairies, magical abilities, mind powers, or anything of that nature.

Father: Garrett Brooks | 54 | Surgeon at the Dilly Valley Hospital |An affair he had with the hospital secretary eighteen years ago, which ended with the birth of a child. He gave the mother enough money to quit her job and move to the other side of town. He still sends the mother money to this day. The child doesn't know that he's his/her father. | None. Yet. It's most definitely blackmail material, though. | @Tiurleik

-Abusive toward... (Stranger, or pre-discussed with another character.)
These are not meant to be pretty, so feel free to discuss and ask questions to help come up with something creative.
