Foreign Languages
Do not write in any language other than English in the public forums, chat, shout, or your profile. If you wish to speak another language, you may create a record label for this purpose. If you choose to speak in another language in a forum, shout, profile, chat room, guest book or blog post then you must translate the other language to English. Failure to do so will result in punishment.
Inappropriate Usernames/Content
Inappropriate usernames with sexual content, profanity of any kind or references to substance use are not permitted. Accounts with inappropriate usernames will be given a timeout, a period of notice will be given for an username to be changed, failure or refusal to change the name will result in the account being deleted.
Forum banners, blog posts and profiles should also not be subject to inappropriate content. A warning will be issued to change or remove the inappropriate content, if the user does not comply they will receive punishment.
For Example: If your forum banner contains a curse word, sexual content or something offensive to other players, you will be asked to remove it. If you do not, you're subject to timeout or banishment.
Swearing
Swearing is permitted unless directed at another user, see Bullying. It is also not permitted to be used in the shouts or thread titles.
For Example: Obvious enough, don't curse at other people in a malicious way but also please refrain from using curse words or vulgar language in the titles of your threads and in any shouts that you create. These posts show up on the front page, and it may be off-putting to people viewing the site for the first time.
Voting Link
Only collect real clicks by promoting your link on other websites, link exchange websites are not allowed and will be punished by removing pd/fans and a TO and if repeated you will risk permanent deletion of your account's.
Game Earning Abuse
Only collect real earnings. If you abuse the classic or casino game's you will get a TO, we will remove pd/fans and if repeated you will risk permanent deletion of your account's.
Advertising
Advertising other websites is not permitted. Users may discuss other sites but accounts created solely to advertise will be deleted. This rule does not apply to advertising Virtual Popstar elsewhere.
Non-Constructive Criticism
Virtual Popstar encourages suggestions to help improve the user experience; however these suggestions should be constructive. It is not permitted to speak negatively of the site or its staff in the forums. If you have a complaint it should either be passed on privately to the administration or moderators via the report function.
For Example: If a designer should post a design asking for opinions, it's not tolerated to be overly rude. Calling someone's design ugly is not going to help them improve, telling them that they could use a little more shading in certain parts is constructive criticism that allows them to improve.
Misleading Links
Posting misleading links or scam websites will result in a time out or serious warning. Misleading links will be deleted even if the content is inoffensive.
Personal Information
It is not permitted to divulge personal information to others, this includes but is not limited to: postal addresses, surnames or phone numbers. This is to ensure the safety of the community. Posts containing personal information will be deleted.
Spamming
Spamming is not permitted. Spamming includes but is not limited to: more than two of the same posts in a row, more than one of the same topic, more than two messages in the shout, excessive posting in the chat lounge, consistent off topic responses to threads, and spreading chain letters.
Begging
Begging for popdollars and/or credits and.or clothes is not permitted. It is permitted to create a single thread asking for help, but mass messaging or spamming is not.
For Example: Begging is a form of harassment if it's constant, if you message someone asking if they want to sell an item and they say no, there's no reason for you to ask them every day after that. That is begging and spamming and is against the rules.
Cheating/Scamming
Cheating on Virtual Popstar is not permitted. Cheating includes but is not limited to: using bots to click voting links, stealing money from another account, sending money from numerous side accounts, and manipulating glitches within the game.
If you scam another player and are found guilty via screenshots, you will receive a timeout, minimum of 24 hours. If after 24 hours you won't return the item/pd/cr that doesn't belong to you, more time will be added and you're subject to banishment.
If your trade takes place off of VP and you get scammed, there is nothing our team can do.
Dating
Virtual Popstar is an online community game. Using it as dating site is not allowed.
Bribing
Bribing another user for favours or special treatment is prohibited.
Report Button
The report button is used to report posts and messages that are against the rules and/or harming a user on Virtual Popstar. Misuse of the report function is prohibited.
For Example: The report button is located on the bottom of each post, the quote button is at the top. Please be sure you're clicking the quote button and not the report button if you're meaning to quote someone. This allows there to be less clutter in the report inbox so actual reports can be tended to quicker. Also, before hitting the report button be sure to check the VP rules to know if a player is breaking a rule and use your own discretion to gauge whether a person is joking or actually being offensive.

Bullying another player will not be tolerated. Bullying includes but is not limited to: name calling, making fun of another player, attacking another player, calling out another player, and ganging up on one player.
For Example: If a player voices an opinion it's not tolerated to verbally abuse them because their opinion doesn't match yours. This verbal abuse is and not limited to: direct curses at the player, death threats, name calling and unnecessary rude comments directed at the player.

See Bullying. Harassment of other users directly or indirectly is prohibited. Virtual Popstar’s definition of a personal attack is when a user is singled out or personally referenced in a bullying manner.
For Example: If someone does something to upset you, it is not tolerated for you to create a thread explaining why that person is a bad person. It is also not permitted to attack them via personal message, guestbook, shout or chat room. If you have a problem with someone, check to make sure they've actually broken a rule and if so, report them to a MOD via the report button.
Drug Related Discussion
Discussion of drugs is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: descriptions of drug use, glorification of drug use, and giving tips for acquiring drugs.
Sex Related Discussion
Discussions that include pornographic pictures and videos, erotica, nudity, or detailed descriptions of sexual experiences are not allowed. Individual cases will be dealt with by moderator discretion.
For Example: Discussions about your sexual escapades will not be tolerated, the thread will be deleted immediately and immediate punishment will ensue. There are children on this site that don't need to be reading your lewd stories.
Glorification of Self Harm
Discussion of self harm in a positive light is prohibited. Virtual Popstar is a supportive site and promotion of illegal or damaging behavior is not permitted.
Graphic Violence
Posting links to, videos, or images of graphic violence is not permitted. The discussion of current affairs such as wars is permitted provided graphic, unsettling images are not posted.
For Example: Posting pictures or linking pictures or giving detailed explanations of how you would murder someone will result in immediate punishment.
Discrimination
General discussions about race,ethnicity, culture, religion, gender and other affiliations are permitted. However, malicious comments directed at any specific race, culture or religious group will not be tolerated and will result in punishment.
For Example: None of your comments in your discussion of race should be phrased to make any race or affiliation seem inferior to another. You may talk about how certain groups are targeted and treated poorly, but you are not allowed to target or treat certain groups poorly.
Virtual Popstar aims to be a fun, safe community for all users to enjoy. For this reason, any case of rule breaking and its punishment is subject to moderator discretion. History of rule breaking will be considered in all cases.
