There has been some misunderstanding regarding the whole designer and teams situation I believe.
So, jess told me about a topic off Snailman so took a look and he is claiming I think his/her designs are not worthy and such. Honestly.... I don't understand where this is coming from, I think he is one of the best designers we have ever had, with great potential and I told him this before in a pm. Also, designers do not design for me! They design for the players, the community. I did not create this game for me but for all you to play with, I only build the playground.
And why is everyone always acting if they work for me, I don't play VP, you work for this community, just as I do. And don''t get me started about money again the changes are very small I will ever recoup my investment and invested time. But I don't mind, I just love and enjoy to build stuff for others to play with and all the team members do so wonderful work in my playground. It's like giving party's it costs money but it is just so cool to see everybody enjoy it. I give lots of party's for my friends in real life
And I think we get a lot of appreciation from the players. I do appreciate all of the team members. And if I am online on the NL server does not mean I am online, I just did not log out. A few times a week I log in and answer all messages on all servers at the same time and not server is left behind. And in general. I don't prefer designers from one specific server at all, to be honest, when I choose sets I don't care who designed it most of the time I don't even look at it and one week I use sets from the en server and the next week from the dutch, I always choose the best designs for the more special thinks like game/dm. The credit set week is different solovey has a contract to make the designs I use for cr set week.
What is extremely frustrating to me, in the designer situation is that always, all the best designs made on this server are marked in the backend as voucher code. So many great great artwork I always see and I can't use it for the special shit as I would like. Since they are reserved for teams. I repeatedly told jess and other team members my concerns and that in my opinion the whole voucher code thingy is spinning out of control. But if this is what you all think works best for the site overall I keep quit en work with the things I can choose. Which honestly is not much from the EN server.
Just like you all I try to make VP a nice place, but I sometimes I have the feeling I only get criticised and nobody likes me, that doesn't help to show my face more often. But we all have one thing in comment, we all love VP and most players have a lot of fun here, and that is because I gave you all the opportunity to make something of VP. I don't make VP, yes the programming and clothing management are my responsibilities but all the others make vp to what it actually is and when I think about how much that all means to my I start to cry. But is is always easy to criticize and claim we can do it better. Well, then do. Make a forum each week and let people vote what sets need to be used for that kind of things and I will listen. But I can already predict, then the best sets will all end op for pd in the shops.
This community is doing really good for itself the past 5 years. So I must have been be doing something right.... Could I do better? Ofcourse, looking back I am for sure not the best qualified to run this whole organisation, that is why I am so grateful for people as Shadowjess (and Kim/Lianne back in the days.) And then I read a message like the one from snailmen and I am surprised since nobody tells me about this things and I do not whats the forums on VP so if nobody pm's me with a situation, the changes are great I will not know. Communication is a 2-way street, No only put complains in a forum and never tell me about it (also tagging me does not work since this is turned off). I am very sorry for any team member who does not feel he/she is not appreciated by me or others. I think it is just amazing to have such a wonderful community which is self organizing. If there are frustrations. PM me, I always read every message, always. And if you have good ideas, tell me. I always consider them. And if the Designers think they will manage clothing better, then work out a system how they think it can work better and ALL designers and players agree with the usage of their designs.
