tell the story
Last week I bought a washing machine of a really nice guy on something that's similar to craigslist or whatever, I know there's nothing wrong with the machine itself but it's more likely the plumbing trap or something different, as the thing for washing machines most likely haven't previously been used in this apartment (student housing thing), water traps might get dried out and then they smell, so my washing machine is smelling like effluent? or something and it's pretty gross. I know the machine itself is clean as I cleaned it with a really expensive machine wash that removed the smell for like 4 hours until it came back. The janitor was here today and looked at it, he did some brief things in the drain and told me to wait and see and take contact if it continues to smell and I'm 100% sure it will because he really didn't do much.
The clothes smell when I take them out of the machine, but the odeur doesn't stay on them so when I have them on the dry.. thing.. they stop smelling as far as I can notice.

It depends, sometimes it's more sometimes it's less. I'm very sensitive to smell so I might even be overreacting on it, I just want it to be gone because it has to be possible to get rid of it. I'll contact the janitor again in maybe 3 days if the smell isn't gone by then

It's still better than walking outside to go to the laundry room of the building to wash clothes for 22,50 NOK and then carry the wet clothes outside and then up to my apartment. Too much effort and way too expensive
