I actually have the same thoughts as you (: Have some friends who haven't been at my house for a while...
However, I don't think they are as interested in ESC as I am, so perhaps there won't be as much watching on the tv then hah x'c

No it hasn't begun yet.

Semifinal 1 - 19th of may
Semifinal 2 - 21th of may
Final - 23 of may

However, in Sweden at least, we have already started "preparatory sendings" before ESC where they are going through all the contestants and a "jury" consisting of five persons vote on every song. But the votes doesn't have any importance.

It was an exception because of conchita a male female with beard made it something new, otherwise who knows who would have won

Yes, that is true... Most countries often votes for their neighbors. However, there is perhaps something more into it than just friendship. Perhaps it is that countries placed close to eachother have the more similar music taste..
