actors who play the violin or are doctors too aren't excluded from playing other roles of non-violin playing characters or non doctor characters.
autistic, disabled, trans, poc actors had a hard time to get cast in hollywood, especially in leading roles for a long time and still do and if they do get cast, racist fans make their lifes hell (john boyega, candice patton,....).
I'm not saying no non marginalized actor should ever play a role like that again, but at this point creators and actors should really ask themselves how their decisions impact the lifes of others.
Okay that’s a fair point, but
shouldn’t the part always go to the best actor? If, for arguments sake, the person on the spectrum, who was considered for the part, didn’t have sufficient acting abilities, but someone who wasn’t did, shouldn’t the part go to the person who can do it justice?
