The moonlight illuminated the room through the window as the wind blew shuffling the curtains, she felt the night breeze kiss in her cheeks and its cold whisper. Sleeping that day was an impossible task, the girl decided then to stop trying and embraced her insomniac state.
Something seemed off, she couldn't tell exactly what. Maybe if she washed her face this strange feeling would go away, slip in the sink's drain, and vanish completely. The corridor lamp started flickering, she felt a chill up her spine, what a scaredy-cat she was. Courage, she murmured quietly for herself.
The running water was ice cold in her fair bare hands, the palm turning red as the blood flood there increased, the body fighting the drastic temperature change. The morning began to rise tinting the bathroom walls a yellowish tone, sleeping time was definitely gone. She dried her face, looked at the mirror, and noticed.
There was no reflection of her. She tried other mirrors in the house, not a single sight of herself. Something glittered in the vintage mirror in her room, driven by curiosity she pressed the fingertips in the glass surface. It shredded in tiny pieces and her arm slipped in the reflection.
The room was exactly like hers, she could see the real one through the broken glass. And then she saw herself, the girl on the other side smiled, the pointy white teeth glimmering. Without success, she attempted to return, screamed, and cried. The girl was trapped.
