I'd never pay more than 1k credits for an item. That's just overpriced and ridiculous in my mind. 

It's a VP pet peeve of mine. That's why I ranted about it like that.

I dont care about the prices, it isn't the people who are selling that decides on the prices it's the buyers. 
But i do agree, i dont think people should be selling the whole set just after winning it, dont think people should participate if they dont want the set or some parts of it.
