" Don't look at me like that. " the redhead murmured, pigtails bouncing as she shifted in annoyance.
" Like what? " Soshi asked, unsure of what she could have meant. He was a plush unicorn after all. He couldn't exactly change his expression.
" That. " She snapped, pigtails bouncing again as she crossed across the room.
" Okay. Sorry. " He wished he could move. It was getting boring, being propped on her dresser day after day. Watching her come and go. She had a schedule. Oh, yes. Soshi knew it well. But she usually wasn't home at this time... why was she home? He wasn't sure. There was nothing marked on the calendar that sat across from him.
He watched with plastic eyes as she opened her closet, raising a metaphorical brow as she drew out a orange kimono, and a paper mache pumpkin head-- both items from her last halloween costume. It was the middle of january, why would she need those?
" Uh.. How was your day? " He asked, deciding small talk was better than this bitter, uncomfortable silence.
" Bad. " She didn't even look at him.
" Why? "
" Got fired. "
Ohh. That was bad. He would wince if he could.
" Jeez, I'm sorry. How come? "
" Apparently, coworkers find me threatening. " Her voice, dripping with frustration, was slightly muffled as she slid on the pumpkin head, Kimono already secured and on. Why was she wearing that? He had to ask.
" Why are you wearing that? "
" I don't want to be recognized. " Nobody was home. Who was she hiding from? Soshi was too distracted by his own thoughts to notice her pick up the katana that had been mounted on the wall. He was only brought back to attention as he was scooped up.
" OH! Are we going somewhere? " He asked, feeling excitement rise in his stuffed belly. He hadn't been out in so long. Not since she was in middle school. All he ever did nowadays was sit and collect dust. He was going to go out! Or get moved at least. Maybe to the bed! Oh, how he missed the bed. The bed was much, much more comfortable than the hard dresser top.
" We aren't going anywhere. I'm going to work. " She said, adressing him with a tone she never had before. It was cold. It cut through him like cheese.
" Oh.. But, I thought you were fir--.. Why do you have a match? " He could feel her grin.
" I don't like witnesses. "
omg... bruh
