s vinted good
i still haven't been brave enough to use
I mean it depends on the seller.
I have bought lots of cool stuff for really cheap but you gotta be careful.
Here are some tips from someone who has never been scammed in their almost 10 years on vinted:
Never pay with paypal friends and family if the sum is over 5€ (It's against PP terms and conditions anyway to use F&F for selling and buying)
Do not transfer money if the seller's bank account is at a foreign bank
Look at the time of the ratings, how old are they? There have been account hacks recently.
Do not use the same password you use on other websites, check if your old passwords have been leaked
haveibeenpwned.com/Do not buy wanted items for a price that is too good to be true + do google reverse search for images
always ask if the seller smokes/has pets
take a good look at the pictures and don't shy away from asking for more pics.
ask for any flaws in the item.
for selling:
- the vinted system highly favors the buyer so make sure to take pictures/videos before shipping
- same with paypal, you have to have proof that you sent the buyer the item you sold in the condition stated in the item description
- bank transfer without the vinted system is really the best way to sell because there is less chance of the buyer scamming you
- I cannot state this enough, never give out your email if you haven't agreed on paypal payment and do not click on any links in the chat, those are phising
- also do not fall for fake pictures in the chat where people claim they already paid.
This is actually really useful
