I'm an avid reader and I know there's some others that are too!
so i have some questions for my fellow readers
~
~
Do you have a favorite genre?
Is there a series you just go back and read over and over?
A series you will not touch again?
Do you have a favorite time/weather/place to read?
Do you have a book/author that's a problematic fav or guilty pleasure?
~
~
if you don't read as much books, it can be tv shows, games, anime, fanfic, etc.
i wanna know more about you guys!

~

My favorite genre is fantasy or romantasy. I occasionally read dystopians as well.  Currently reading the priory of the orange tree and I have the prison healer trilogy coming in the mail. I will never read Harry Potter again, I got the hardbacks as a child but knowing what kind of person JKR is, I can't really separate it, also the books aren't really that good and there are too many plotholes. When I read it's primarily in my bed but reading outside in the garden in summer is so cozy but now I live in an apt in the city but hoping to find a house in the countryside but I'm not in a hurry to move. My guilty pleasure series is Throne of Glass as I found out after the books that SJM is problematic but I won't buy any more of her books

I love books so bad!!

My favorite  genre is mostly romance but I also like fantasy.

Not a series but my all time favorite books are Four years later by Emma Doherty and
Beautiful Lawman by Sophie Jordan. The one by Emma I cry every time I read. Trigger warning.

Hmm favorite author is for sure Sophie Jordan! But I enjoy Willow WInters and Jennifer L. Armentrout alot also!

I just got two book in the mail. So excited to read them.!

living in the city is such a double edged sword, because theres no quiet like the countryside

harry potter is such swiss cheese of plot and world building
(and the fanfics are better than the actual story)

ive never heard of the priory of the orange tree! whats that about?

I'm only about 80 pages in but it's a sapphic epic fantasy about dragons and politics. It's supposed to have a good showcase of religion in fantasy books that actually affects the plot and actions of characters which I've already started to see. So far it's a bit of a slow read but it's good in the way that I still pick it up because I want to know what happens next but don't feel like bingeing it if that makes sense

Does too much manga count as reading? I read a lot of that...
As for genre, I read a little of everything (so if u need a manga rec hit me up ;)
I gravitate to fantasy or dark fantasy/horror. I love things with deep feels and character development too (but I may get kinda annoyed at casual/basic romance that seems more hollywood and less "has a point to it";)
Favorite manga: Natsume's Book of Friends.
I'm really bad at picking fav's so 2nd place would be impossible for me to pick.
I don't hate "real" books, I just don't usually pick them if I'm reading for fun.
Some real books I've really likes are the Johannes Cabal series and The Chronicles of Nick series (currently re-audiobooking and multitasking with).
I have a love hate relationship w/ anything by Junji Ito. I haven't enjoyed a lot of it but whenever I see a new book at the library I have to get it and read it.
I guess another problematic series is the stuff by Darren Shawn. I like his take on vampires but the time jump-y style bothers me so much.......XO
I think I have blocked out of my mind the titles of anything I legit-ly hated atm.
I will read anywhere anytime honestly. I will read in bits between tasks or at 3am or whatev.
(if any of these authors are problematic i'm sorry, i really don't pay attentions to that kinda stuff)

I mostly play games on the computer, such as online games, such as VP and gsm.
If I choose to read any book, I prefer to read fantasy and adventure.

books is basically my entire personality at this point

Do you have a favorite genre?
always been a high fantasy reader, but this year in particular i've been loving contemporary romance, so i suppose that is a favourite genre now as well. thought i was a romantasy reader, but none of the romantasy books i've picked up this year has done it for me, so i suppose i need my fantasy and romance separate

Is there a series you just go back and read over and over?
i may pick up a series i read years ago for nostalgic purposes, but no, i don't have a specific series i read again and again

A series you will not touch again?
powerless trilogy by lauren robers. first book was ok, like not great but readable. second book was just bad in every way. only skimmed it through for the satisfaction of giving it one star. i'm not reading the third book when that comes out. also thought stephanie garber wasn't gonna be for me because i just couldn't for the life of me get into once upon a broken heart, but then i picked up caraval from the library on a whim and really enjoyed it so now i think i might try a reread of ouabh so that i can finish that trilogy as well. (mainly just want to love ouabh because i adore the pink paperbacks. they're so pretty, and i don't want a reason to unhaul them...)

Do you have a favorite time/weather/place to read?
love reading in the sofa on a rainy day with a cozy blanket and a cup of tea. that's peak happiness

Do you have a book/author that's a problematic fav or guilty pleasure?
zodiac academy, lol, i'm not elaborating
