side note, learning how cakes are made makes me feel like I'm a part of a secret club. A very sugary club, that is. And oily, especially the carrot cake.
Thankfully, I had help with the carrots, my arms are too weak and I'm too lazy. We didn't have a lot of time, so of course we need to hurry to the store last minute because I failed to see the amount of an ingredient I needed.
Also, WHO was going to tell me that when it says "room temperature" butter, its not a recommendation but a necessary detail? I was shocked. Bamboozled. Almost wanted to cry (I didn't). It didn't mess up anything more than it made the cream look a bit funny. Otherwise, it tasted good.
Thankfully I didn't make the carrot cake in my own kitchen, cause it ended up looking really messy lmao. All in all, a tough ride, I almost messed up multiple times, and while it didnt look that good it didn't taste awful! The cake itself was lovely, the cream could've been better. That might also be me using too much cream cheese because of course I eyeballed it. Forgot my eyesight sucks.
I would add a picture, but it doesn't look good so just imagine a carrot cake that has seen some shit.
TL;DR It went a bit messy, looked really messy too, but it worked! Kinda. It tasted good, that's all that counts (for now).
