You mean using plastic bags to throw food waste? Isn't that bad for a different reason?
it is not ur regular plastic bag like how u get at the store, u cannot use those
it is given out by the government to use. If u r empty u hang a bag out on ur trashcan for them to give u more!

they used to b thin nd skimpy nd falling apart at evry move before, AND hard to tell apart from food waste by the machines. The old bags were not not just food waste, they SHUD be taken out, it was just not as bad if they didnt get taken out. The new plastic ones r extremely more easier to pick out and take care of
What was it before? Here we use paper bags.
paper bags wud b nice actually will ask my uncle next time y they did not opt for paper bags (he works in trash)
before they were a?? biodegradable plastic? idk how to make it make sense but it WAS better for the environment IF it got past, just so hard to catch by the machines that a lot more bags went thru to the point it was just strait up WORSE for environment than the new plastic ones bcus so many didnt get noticed by the machines bcus it blended in w food waste so well

Without knowing anything about trash sorting, using plastic for food waste just sounds plain weird. I'm assuming it all just "goes in" together here, since paper bags are organic material just like the food waste itself, which makes it much easier.

Oh yeah, I've seen that on TV before. But here, at least in the trash room downstairs, there is a bin for metal stuff like cans, and then clear and coloured glass also have separate bins.

Oh yeah, if you mean those individual bins they have for people living in houses there are two bins from what I've seen, but idk how it looks inside them. For people who live in flats like I do, there is usually a trash room in the neighbourhood, with a lot of different bins so people can do proper sorting themselves.

it started out as a gratistelt where ppl would leave stuff that was usable but they wanted to toss n ppl could pick up for free n then i guess kommunen thought we should profit off of this so they built it into a store instead n thats where i worked
