tbh nothing Happened but it infuriates me to see them hit all the points of what makes a cosplay contest bad... matteo can confirm how annoyed i was bc i wouldnt let bro watch the masters in peace without complaining. which is funny bc ive never been to any before this con LMAO but i kno my shit >_<
essentially it was just bad MCs who were too focused on trying to be funny (failing) instead of highlighting the cosplayers and their creations. it was rlly straight up disrespectful in some cases. in cosplay contests its realllllly important to highlight the work the creator put into their cosplay by letting them speak for themself (NOT LIVE!!! let them write something for the hosts to read out. or have somethin prerecorded if its fancypants contests like ncc ig). they did interviews, which i dislike overall because then ur gonna lose "points" from the audience if ur shy and awkward. which u probably will be because the questions were not rehearsed and they were STUPID!!!!! it was so unfair. some would get asked about the actual craftsmanship of the cosplay, and we thought maybe the contestants did get to pick the questions after all??? but then other questions were so genuinely stupid n disrespectful and it was uncomfortable. ask abt the cosplay. ask abt the work they did. dont ask about if theyve played the game the character is from recently? dont ask if they

everyone was confused by the first place winner because the audience wasnt shown the actual impressive work put into the cosplay. the performance didnt have closeups, and the interview was disgustingly uncomfortable to the point where one of the MCs himself commented on it being awkward. but then when she claimed her prize they showed closeups and i thought "oh yeah it looks really beautifully done. imagine if we got to see that earlier"
