i think it's not normal behaviour to be fully aware of your own tone at all times, it sounds like some kind of mental thing like super obsessive, plus the "what did you mean" serves as two things like people can double down and continue to be offensive or they can back down and be like "it was a joke", like it gives people the option to choose how it was supposed to be read, without having planned it in advance, it's a part of interaction and the tone tag thing is just going to limit speech and understanding and i don't think it's going to help people on the spectrum in the long run and it's babying them like goo goo ga ga smol babie do not understand :' ( uwu and that's ableist as well
