It's not for everyone, and I didn't think it was for me either for years (like I was totally against it). And yeah, I totally understand that you don't like the thought of therapy if you had to do it against your will in the part. I tried and had a few sessions about four years ago, and I didn't like the therapist and things just didn't work out, so I just stopped and decided to fix things myself. It worked for a while, but this year has just been a mess and I actually can see now that what I'm doing is not working and I need help to be able to continue with like life I guess.
Yes, and it is really good that you get a new therapist. I can see how it helps people but to me, it didn't help. Sure I got to speak out about stuff but I never felt confident enough to fully trust my therapist mostly because I didn't want her to tell my mom which she said she won't but still I didn't trust that. My mom always wanted us to go together which I didn't want and luckily that never happened. It was also sometimes very awkward when I talked to her because
she was just sitting there and staring at me whenever I stopped to talk so it was like really silent and awkward. I'm sure it will help you but as I said it is nothing for me.
That was the reason I stopped four years ago... just so awkward. And yeah, it was for me as for you, I didn't get anything out of it last time I tried, but I just have to give it one more chance.
I see why it was hard and uncomfortable for you if you weren't able to fully trust her. Trust plays a big part in being able to open up. Hope you're alright now tho, and have found what works for you <3
Yeah, I mean I still struggle but I can handle most of it even if I sometimes wish that my best friend was in Sweden now because I fully trust her and there was stuff I couldn't take up with the therapist which my best friend only know. She lives in New Zealand now so it is hard to reach her and my other best friend just stopped to talk with me so right now I don't have any to talk to when it gets really hard, but I still feel like I don't want to go to a therapist
