What was it about!
(ahem) An extraplanar meteor has struck through the planes, ripping through from the heavens down into the darkest abyss, bringing down the storms of the astral sea into the material plane. In it's wake is left a massive crater, and in the middle of it, the comet - Spear of the Gods, now dubbed - and it's wild, unknowable magic.
A little war between the demons of Abyss and celestials of the Seven Heavens and a couple hundred years later, life now fills the impact site. A new city state has risen around the study of the comet's weave, called Mercuria, after one of Celestia's heavens. Beings from all over are drawn to this place where the fabric between the outer and inner planes feels so thin, you could almost accidentally step to another dimension. People of faith gather to be closer to their deities, wizards of all schools and castes come to study and experiment, and of course, for those less intent on learning, there are multitude of ways to enrich yourself in Mercuria.
Waaaaaa this is such a cool setting… now I am also sad you didn’t get to use it 😭 ur brain is full of so much creativity
