I get the mental thing! If you think food isn't good it's usually harder to eat and swallow as well. All in all very hard to get out of.

I usually recommend smell and look test for meat, and also remember that using high heat kills a lot of bad stuff. Dying of food poisoning is fortunately very hard, but diarrhoea isn't fun either.
