I just feel like all the outfits that gets attention are those that has like a million unnecessary items, if you get what I mean. I guess, I don't think much of the items count tbh 
But yes, people tend to vote for the outfits they feel like people have used the most time on and I guess using more items often looks like that because it takes a lot of time to click on items rather than mixing and matching so everything fits.
I don't mean like actually counting the items, but like you know those "typical" vp outfits that just has so much going on.. And like those do look amazing, but I just don't feel like the simpler ones, that are just as amazing in my opinion, gets the same amount of attention. I don't know how to explain what I mean better
