It was Christmas Eve.I really wanted a caramel coloured puppy as my Christmas present this year. I
gave so many hints to my mum and dad I was for sure I’d be getting one. I
already knew what I would call it.‘Emily, its time to leaveout your mince pies and milk for Santa then its time to hop into bed.’ My mum
called from the living room.‘Coming mum.’ Ireplied.I walked downstairs togo get some mince pies and milk for Santa.
I am excited for Christmas; I have always loved putting out mince pies
and milk for Santa clause. I have been doing it for all the 6 years I have been
alive.‘Right now that that’sfinished its time you get you into bed, my little mince pie.’ Giggled my dad
prodding my nose.‘But I’m not...yawn... tired.’ I yawned.‘I think my littleangel is.’ Laughed my dad.My mum held my handand we walked upstairs.‘Night daddy.’ I waved.‘Night pumpkin.’ Hereplied.I got changed into mylight pink and light blue angel pj’s then brushed my teeth and tied my hair up into
2 plaits then hoped into my snugly warm bed and drifted slowly off to sleep.
Once I had closed my eyes I felt my mums warm lips touch my forehead then drift
off and that’s when my forehead when cold. ‘Woof woof.’ I faintlyheard.I woke up as fast aspossible.‘What was that?’ Igasped.I switched my lamp onand got out of bed.I grabbed the closestthing I could find, a Bratz doll, then walked slowly downstairs. It was coming
from the kitchen. It was very faint but I could still hear it very clear. There
was a box sitting on the kitchen floor and it was... moving?I opened it to find...A CARAMEL COLOUREDPUPPY!I gasped with delight.‘Aww it’s my littlecaramel.’ I said.Suddenly the puppyjumped out at me and started rapidly licking my face.‘Down boy, down.’ Ilaughed.‘Emily, is that you?’I heard my mum and dad say.‘Yes mum, I’m in thekitchen.’ I laughed.‘Ah, I guess she’sfound the puppy.’ My dad said.‘I’m sorry I ruinedthe surprise.’ I replied.‘Its okay hunny, wedidn’t really expect you not to hear him.’ Mum told me.Then we all had agroup hug and we all felt a little hairy bit which was Caramel jumping into the
group hug.We all laughed. It was the bestChristmas ever.
