Im sorry but someone admitted to spending over 300€ on the perks all together and I just wonder… it’s a game?? The site isn’t even open yet?? How do people trust this whole campaign this much?? I cannot understand
it's nostalgia bait combined with FOMO (fear of missing out). most scams are laid out like this, which is why i'm personally so skeptical
nowadays this type of scams are popularized by NFTs, but there's also been other projects, for example indie games that got several million dollars in crowdfunding (such as chronicles of elyria) and were never delivered. crowdfunding sites are full of these, u don't have to even explicitly search for them before one pops before ur eyes
very rarely are crowdfunded projects ever released, and when/if they are, they are usually not even close to what was promised. i'm only touching the tip of the iceberg here, but there are several youtube channels that go very in depth on this stuff and even dedicate their personal time researching and calling these projects out. some have been generous enough to even try and gather money to ppl who lost theirs
Yeah this is my concern exactly. I just feel like they are currently milking money from people who are borderline desperate to get the site back and exploiting old users’ gullible nature for their benefit. For example these new perks keep appearing every now and then despite not even knowing the launch date and/or how the site functions after being dormant for six years, people will just buy anything in the hopes of some nostalgic vibes or whatever without thinking it any further. At least to me these perks and all the promises they are making sound almost too good to be true but you never know I guess.
