I’ve never succeeded in doing this idk how people make it look so easy

it also depends on your straightener! it has to heat a lot and constantly, which only some of them do

Just as insurance! I don't think we'll ever need it for a crisis, but I don't ever expect to use my liability insurance either, but that doesn't mean I don't have one. I remember playing This War of Mine once and it really left an impression on me, so now that we have some actual recs it's not stupid to follow them

I'm thinking solar cell powerbank, solar cell radio (of the recommended type), 9L of water per person + maybe 3 for our dog??? and then thinking long lasting food like canned beans, nuts and similar. Not anything wild, and mostly stuff we already use in our day-to-day life, just a little more stocked up.

that sounds reasonable and good! I'd do something similar really in a situation like that
what type of crisis can happen at your place? flooding?

I liked This War of Mine, but it was also very depressing sad

I think most people should be prepared for something if they can! It frees up resources for other people too, so they can get help instead, which makes it easier to prioritize.
I honestly think we live in a fairly safe area, so most things happening would be bigger national stuff. Flooding is like, not even discussed about this area because it's so high-up. I think the biggest threat atm is hacking ruining our infrastructure and digital society (90% of the public sector) but also water/heat/electricity shutting down for a shorter period of time.
