whats it about!
woof its a pretty big concept to summarize but basically
we’re in the kingdom of veyndar, a low-magic kingdom where religion, order and hard work are core values. the religion is homebrewed and has very controlling undertones. and a week ago a green storm erupted above one of it’s forests and made wild magic exist. before magic was very limited and could only be learned by going to a prestigious school conveniently only accessible to the super rich. but now random ppl can do magic and new races appear.. obviously the government cant have this so they spewed propaganda hate abt ‘wild magic bad’ and recruited my players to go into the woods as a scouting party to find out what happened and why wild magic spawned
but evil government actually knows what happened; before current religion of veyndar was created, there were four gods. one god wanted all the power to himself so he locked away the other gods and all they controlled, banishing wild magic. nd now the seal of their stonehenge-like cage is weakening bc the current king is getting old and wants to use the magic of th old gods to become immortal
lots of lore but what my players are mostly doing is; they go i to the forest, it’s become magical and old, a beast accidentally created by the wild magic is hunting them (think wolflike mutilated annihalation bear) and they have to piece together that the leading religion of veyndar is a fake one and they have to choose at the end whether they’ll strengthen the seal and lock away the gods for good w the help from evil god, or if they break the seal and restore the old faith
its a mini campaign so a lot of set stuff haha so it doesnt go on for a year o:
waaaaa so rad frfr i love it sounds like right amount of whimsy n a lil edgy n spooky with the bein hunted by the magic
