I think it's good they sent this my way. This would be one of the worst financial decisions the band could make, and the contract is less than subpar in writing + wording + the clauses and the rights they get.

I hope his bandmates have enough respect for my knowledge on contract law to not enter into this agreement, because I would absolutely advise against it

I've not even deep dived into it, but a quick read-over of it really makes me question what service and results they actually pay for, for there's nothing concrete here. I know there can't really be in this type of contract, but it really needs a "if CONTRACT PARTNER doesn't give any actual results the band will get 1/3 of money/deposit/whatever back"

contracts can be such a shitshow, and it's so important to read through them. The best way to handle them is to think up the craziest wild scenarios and then try to apply the situations to the contract (realistic ones are good too) and then act it out in your head. Also looking at obligations for both parties; does it seem equal etc. etc. A solid contract is honestly the best foundation for anything.

Law is honestly such a big subject with so many important things in it. I'm surprised we don't cover some of the basics before uni. I know some law can be hard to understand, but I feel like understanding your working rights, some simple inheritance law and the rights you have in the public sector would make such a good foundation.
