I mean if they threw it out without ur premission im pretty sure thats literally illegal and it the very least home insurance should cover it as theft or smth 
unfortunatly i think it is legal bc the repair was on warranty and stuff so they just class it as a faulty product that cant be fixed. but yeah it def feels illegal
