Promise you're not the only toddler who's done stuff like that and it was your parents responsibility to keep both you and the cat safe at that age. The point is nonetheless that you learned the lesson that I wasn't okay and didn't do it again. So you aren't that person anymore and you don't have to hold onto the guilt of it. Forgive yourself if you haven't already.
