i'm not sure i'll have the best answer since i dont have that same obsession but i'll try my best.
when it gets tough i try to distract myself by playing games or watching videos/movies, probably not the best advice to give.
it's also good that you realize that it's irrational bc for the first few years i was experiencing ocd i thought it was completely rational.
