kind of a condescending way to say you need to study law more to be a lawyer 
it's so hard to actually pace it well. I'm struggling a little now...
We have a lot of that... in some way I do get it, because I knew jackshit with my bachelor in hand, compared to what I do now that I'm specialized.

I wouldn't say so. It's kinda historical, but the main character for each season does have some kind of personality and it plays off different tropes. It's good for the female gaze, but I wouldn't say it's unnecessarily lovey-dovey compared to the drama happening

I would recommend the TV series over the books for a myriad of reasons.
I found the first season problematic due to the r*pe happening in the last few episodes (it's not played off as r*pe). I enjoyed season 2, and the part of the spinoff I have watched was a really strong story. idk with new season yet.
