i started studying straight away and i somewhat regret it because i really needed a break. If you feel like you want and need a gap year you should take it now, because you will likely not get this chance in the future, especially if you start working straight after uni. Take a year to take it chill, relax n recover from high school and at the max work part time if at all. itll be good for your soul.

also if you're not quite sure what you want to study yet, then go get some work experience before starting. Sometimes it also helps with confidence later on.
