Aw, I'm just happy to help! Any threads about feminism, that's where you'll see me go into debate. I can't stand people like that woman who wrote the article, so it's mostly just fun to come up with responses/arguments to prove them wrong.

Haha, yeah. It's difficult not to be. I mean, I probably wouldn't have called myself a feminist a year ago, but for some reason I just thought gender studies sounded interesting, so I applied for that course. After only a week, my vision had expanded enourmously. All the insights I get from reading the literature and hearing other people's views are amazing. I think if you just go into gender studies with the belief that there should be real gender equality, I'm pretty sure the course will make you into a full-fledged feminist once you reach the end of it. XD

I kind of hope not, not because I mind feminists at all. But because my sister has a subject called 'gender studies' in her education, and knowing my family(or rather my father) it'll be very chaotic, oh boi

Oh, well, my definition of "full-fledged feminist" doesn't really mean what people like to call "extreme feminists". Why is your father against it though? I'm not going to make any assumptions since I don't know him, but what comes to mind is a middle-aged, white man who just can't stand women who don't behave "the way they should".

I didn't really think about 'extreme feminists' either, but just being very into feminism would be very chaotic.
I don't really think he is against it, but his mind set is very conservative when it comes to a lot of things. He sure isn't a feminist, and I think that he thinks that a lot of what the feminists are portrayed to be in the medias are too much 'feminism' for him.

Ah, yeah, okay. Sounds like the typical conservative old person (man) who just doesn't want to change their views. As long as they're not bashing people for being feminists, or saying downright mean stuff to people, I guess it's fine. I mean, I get that people have their own opinions, but there's no need to be offensive or rude. That's basically why I try not to call people stupid for not being feminists. I mean, it's not going to change their opinions, so I'd rather just have a civilised debate about things.

I can't really say he is, but I also can't say he isn't. I don't really think he is that closed to changing his mind about things, but he just doesn't know a whole lot about a lot of the subjects so it's almost like it's black talk what he is doing, which is hilarious, for me to hear.
It can be difficult to push opinions onto people, since they have their own standpoint, and probably have got their opinion from other places. Then it's better to reason the opinions, since that might (or might not) help as an eye-opener.
