My old mac is from 2011, and it runs sims totally fine (like honestly better than this new mac that I got this summer), but that was probably because it was upgraded thus a lot more powerful that what you can go buy in the store.. The only reason I bought a new one was because my old was too old for metal

I have Macbook air with the lowest storage, so I think that's a part of the problem as well, but it's amazing that your mac from 2011 runs it! Fantastic : D I think sims uses around 50/60 GB of my 120 GB storage woops 
Ah, yeah airs aren't as strong as pros

I've tried windowed mode before, but everything looks so small so I went back to fullscreen lol 
I can't remember exactly what sized screen it is, but there is a size that fits perfectly as a full sized window so that it is almost like playing fullscreen. You just have to try a few times with dragging the sides until it fits

Not that I know of at least. When you change to window mode, it automatically gives you an almost even square window, and you either have to change the size in the settings or drag the window to enlarge it to a nice big rectangle 

if you click the green button (to make a window bigger) on mac it goes back to fullscreen
