i think both seasons were good in their own way... again maybe i was just excited for new content but even though it's definitely incomplete and it left me feeling unsatisfied in the end, i really enjoyed s2.. i mean junho's (cop) storyline for instance was kind of left hanging but i'm just hoping that season 3 ties all those knots..

anyway i still hated thanos mostly because i was delusionally hoping people would vote for X and he kept interfering with that the whole time LOL.. plus he was really annoying so.. can u blame me...

but as for the other characters, i feel like times have changed so it makes sense that the new generation is nothing like the previous season's.. i think i might agree that season 1's cast felt more serious but i don't mind s2's because honestly generally everything and everyone has become so unserious so i was glad to see that (crypto scammer, druggie dude that fell for crypto scam, korean influencer, etc etc).

i'll be honest i don't think i'm very focused on the characters, i care mostly about the general concept of the series anyway. it's unfortunate that we didn't get as many games as season 1 but i really enjoyed the pentathlon game this season i was sooo hyped it was really well done...

all in all season 1 is still objectively better!   anyway i love the frontman but i need him to be more evil and horrible. maybe i should rewatch season 1, but him with his frontman outfit and him as a player feel like two different people LOL. i also hope we get some kind of conclusion on him and his brother junho ...
generally i hope season 3 is the season where we really go in depth with some of the characters but ehh i don't have high hopes for that tbh.. as long as it's fun i'm good

i loved player 120 (trans girl) she was genuinely great and i sympathize with her story, so i cannot agree that ALL of the characters had no substance

i agree with a lot of this, but a lot of the second season imo, relied on the characters instead of the games.
it was more based on them i think, which i just don't prefer

and i loved number 1, he was SO GOOD, and he made so many mistakes, throwing the match, calling main guy by name, things like that-
so it made it harder to root for him as he watched gi-hun's double standard grow

i also really liked trans girl, however when she started telling us she was special ops, i for SURE knew she was dead

i loved him.. i was so stressed out when he kept sabotaging his turn i thought he wanted to kill his team but no i guess he just wanted to fuck with them and especially gihun lmfao, i took it as him testing gihun to see if he'd snap at him but! they were all such a good team to 001..

he was just very over the top and "k drama" acting. and this is a horror series
i really wanted to like him, but he felt more like comic relief
Yess that's what I felt too. I know his character is supposed to be annoying and what not and totally unserious but maybe I just didn't like the direction they chose to go in for S2 compared to S1. Wasn't as emotionally invested.

i loved the recruiter sm

i thought it was really out of character for gihun to just sacrifice like a third of the people who wanted to leave? and convince a bunch of people to go with him  on what was likely a suicide mission
like i get the logic behind it, but thats not how his brain has operated at any point in the series, he was out there risking his life to save a dead man jsut two days earlier uhm

I was thinking about that scene recently and I strongly agree... I also remembered that in season 1 he got flashbacks to that strike he had at work (I don't remember if it was during lights out), and the fact that he hardly let himself react to the lights out fight in season 2 was so?? well I just concluded that he actually has changed so much that these things don't affect him as much as they used to but I don't know...

the idea of sacrificing people for the rebellion was so stupid I can't believe everyone was in on it... even if inho hadn't been with them, the logistics of it all were never in gihun's favour. there would have been significantly less casualties if they had just fought the O side  .. anyway, I think it was all just meant to be a set up for inho's betrayal
